Tennis was not always an especially mainstream sport, until Bjorn Borg brought it to new heights in the late 70s, albeit this was also due to the battle for supremacy with John MacEnroe. Macrenroe to this day has retained his status by continuing to be a bit of a loudmouth/commentator, in contrast to the unassuming Borg, who has ended up letting extraordinary shades like these commandeer some of his legacy. Any of his original apparel from that period commands handsome sums from collectors. These sunglasses are so rare that even an image of them can scarcely be found online, much less anyone else trying to sell them partly because they were not produced in sufficient quantities to have a model number.
