Vintage Pure Wool long stripe monochrome overcoat peacoat - Alexon

Super high quality coat from vintage brand Alexon, made from pure new wool in a monochrome check pattern. Gound in our grandmas collection but appears completely unworn like most of her stuff. Has a slit at the back, is fully lined, has shoulder pads & a handy strap inside which from research I think is for wearing it open but keeping it close to the body, or to help it keep its shape when hung on a hanger. Long sleeved and double breasted, about midi/calf length. Two large external pockets. Stripe/chequered pattern. 48 inch chest, 44 inch waist and hips, 45 inches long from shoulder to hem. Closest to a modern UK size 16 or a snug 18 but could be worn oversized or open by bigger sizes. I'm a size 14 & wearing it in the photo for size comparison/reference. Perfect condition, no damage that we can see! Really high quality vintage piece, pure wool means it will be really warm perfect for winter. A little creased in places from being in storage. Going off research of the Alexon company this is likley from the 80's-early 90's. Fun fact: at the time, Alexon's CEO Ruth Henderson was the UK's first & only female CEO of a british publicly quoted company.
