Absolutely STUNNING antique Whitby Jet necklace! This is a beautiful piece of Victorian history and a rare find. The necklace is made with Whitby Jet, a material highly appreciated by Victorians for its jet black color, its shine and its lightness.
The necklace has 8 Whitby Jet pieces that have intricate floral designs carved into them. The remainder of the necklace is comprised of Whitby Jet links.
Excellent antique condition! Some very slight scratches on the back of the carved beads that is not noticeable when worn. A white-colored scratch on the link near the pendant as shown in the last photo. It is hardly noticeable when worn.
Purchased from a collector in London.
Measures approximately 18" from clasp to clasp. The pendant drop measures approximately 3 1/2" from the top of the two carved pieces in the drop to the bottom.
